This week we started by watching episodes of life on mars and casualty. We analysed each episode by looking at the characters, mise en scene, narrative, icons and sounds.We recognised that life on mars is in the sub-genre crime drama and casualty is in the sub-genre medical drama. Next we started looking at mise en scene in more detail. Mise en scene means putting on stage =) .

Signification is identifying an image.

Connotation is relating the image to other things. An example of this would be the colour red could be related to love or anger.

Representation is how a character or image is represented to the viewer.
